The Candidate Item Response Analysis report (CIRA) on the performance of candidates for Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (ACSEE), 2017 for subject has been prepared so as to provide feedback to students, teachers, policy makers and other educational stakeholders on the candidates’ performance in this subject.
The Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education Examination marks the end of the two years of Advanced Secondary Education.
This examination is a summative evaluation which, among other things, shows the effectiveness of the educational system in general and the education delivery system in particular.
Essentially, the candidates’ responses to the examination questions is a strong indicator of what the educational system was able or unable to offer to the students in their two years of Advanced Secondary Education.
The report shows the factors for the candidates’ good/poor performance in General Studies by using statistical data on the candidates’ scores for individual question and the candidates’ responses.
Besides that, sampled extracts from the candidates’ scripts have been inserted to illustrate the quality of the responses.
