ABOUT Stella Maris Mtwara University College (STeMMUCo)
Stella Maris Mtwara University College (STEMMUCO), located in the South Eastern part of Tanzania.
The College started as a University Centre of St Augustine University of Tanzania (SAUT) in 2009 in accordance with the mission and vision of the University which foresees the holistic formation of a person for the national development.
It was purposefully established in southern Tanzania so as to uplift the zone in education and development panacea. For a long time the southern zone of Tanzania including Mtwara, Lindi and Ruvuma has been lagging behind in terms of various social and economic developments.
In Tanzania apart from having a low university enrolment rate, there are also regional disparities in access to higher education. Many of the higher education institutions are clustered in cities and municipalities of Dar es Salaam, and other parts of the country except the southern zone.
In implementing its envisioned ideal, SAUT found it important to establish the centre which was later upgraded into a College in April, 2012 for the purpose of shedding light to the zone. It is envisaged that the College would become a full-flagged University in the South East of Tanzania.
This is in line with the National Development Vision 2025 to have a high quality of life, a well-educated and learning society that will be able to competitively organize the Tanzanian economy necessary for sustainable growth.
How To check your application status
You need to follow these steps to view you application status:
1. Visit the official University or TCU admission website
2. Go to the ‘Login’ section on the home page of the college website.
3. Log in to your account that you used to apply to join University by entering your Username and Password to access your account.
4. Once you log into your account, you will be welcomed by a message informing you of your application status. If you have been selected, you will see a message saying “Congratulations, you have been selected to join University for the 2024-2025 academic year.”
5. If you have been selected by more than one university, you will see a message indicating that you have Multiple Admission; please confirm your admission. If you have not been selected, you will see a message informing you that you have not been selected and the reason for not being selected.
6. By following these steps, you will be able to check your admission application status at University.
For applicants who have been selected to join University, you need to download the Joining instructions and admission letter and follow all the guidelines and instructions provided in the joining instruction or admission letters regarding registration and other procedures to join the university.
