A Business License is a permit to do business that is issued by the authorities relevant to traders or service providers. Business license is issued accordingly of Business License Law No. 25 of in 1972 and its amendments

The Commercial License applies to a period of one year since the date it was issued until the end of its use.

GROUPS OF BUSINESS LICENSES

Business licenses have two categories which is group A and group B

1. Group A licenses are business licenses capitalized which includes exporters’ licenses, communication services, ports, clubs night, insurance, tourism services, banking and other financial institutions as well as exchange shops, this group of Business licenses are issued by the Agency of Business Registration and Licensing ( B RELA )

2. Group B are Business Licenses issued by Government Authorities Streets On Local Government authorities who issues Business Licenses is the Business Officer of the Council

1. Legal recognition.

2. Help when opening Business account.

3. Document used during borrow money from various financial institutions.

4. Avoiding the inconvenience of being locked up Business.

5. To develop the national income.

CONDITIONS OF TRADE LICENSE

1. You shall not impose any conditions on the buyer.

2. You will issue a receipt for all sales.

3. You will follow the Business license law of 1972 and 1980.

4. You will not sell services or products that do not comply with quality standards set by the relevant agencies.

5. The license can be revoked whenever it appears that you got it by greed or you have violated the terms of the License.

IMPORTANT POINTS TO BE SEEN IN BUSINESS LICENSE

1. License number.

2. Type of license.

3. Name of the authority that issued the license.

4. Tax payer number (TIN).

5. Name of the company or license applicant.

6. Where the business is located.

7. Amount of fee paid.

8. Receipt number and date of payment.

9. Signature of licensor.

10. Name and seal of the relevant authority.

CRITERIA FOR OBTAINING A LICENSE OF BUSINESS

The Business License applicant is required to fill out the License application form Business and time to return the form the applicant must attach the following documents;

1. Document to register as a taxpayer ( T IN ) from the revenue authority Tanzania (TRA).

2. Company registration certificate as the license requested is for the company.

3. Caveat agreement as part of business you have planned.

4. Taxpayer verification certificate ( Tax Clearance Certificate ) from Tanzania Revenue Authority (TR RA).

5. For Business License applicant of professional services will also be required attach certificates from authorities relevant example TCRA (k of the license communication service, TBS (to food service business), EWURA for import business or fuel supply., TMDA for drug business.

6. Also in matters of law, medicine, engineering must attach documents professional (Professional Certificates)
