SERVICE REQUIREMENTS FOR RETURNED CERTIFICATES NECTA:- offers an online application service for private candidates who sat for the National Examinations as Private Candidates (PC) before 2015 but they did not collect their certificates from the Postal Office and therefore returned back to NECTA.
The National Examinations Council of Tanzania (NECTA) is Government Institution which was established by the Parliamentary Act No. 21 of 1973.Â
NECTA is responsible for the administration of all National Examinations and Assessments in Tanzania.
The decision to establish NECTA was a follow-up of an earlier move, in April 1971, when Tanzania Mainland pulled out of the East African Examinations Council (EAEC) to conduct her own examinations. Zanzibar pulled out of EAEC in 1970

Returned CertificatesPrivate candidates who sat for the Exams as before 2015 but they did not collect their certificates from the Postal Office and therefore returned to NECTA.
Documents Required for ApplicationÂ
(a) A copy of the Voter’s ID or National ID or Passport or a Driving license. Other IDs will not be accepted.Â
(b) Coloured Passport Size Photo.Â
(c) Payment Make a Payment of Tshs. 30,000 / = for each NECTA Returned Certificate in one of the following Banks: NMB; CRDB; NBC or through a mobile phone payment system, for example: M – Pesa or Tigo Pesa using the electronic payment number (Control Number) you created.Â
