TAFICO plays a crucial role in the sustainable development of Tanzania's fisheries industry, ensuring the responsible utilization of marine resources. With its focus on large-scale commercial fishing projects including the EEZ, the Corporation aims to boost the country’s fish production, create employment opportunities, enhance food security, and contribute to the overall growth of the country's fisheries sector and economic growth.
The Corporation also focuses on the development of aquaculture and fish farming to enhance the country’s fish production capacity. By investing in modern aquaculture techniques, fish feed production, and providing training to local fish farmers, the Corporation is actively working towards achieving a more self-sufficient and environmentally friendly fish industry.
Additionally, the Corporation works to improve the value chain of the fisheries sector by investing in facilities for fish processing, and cold chain and reducing post-harvest losses, particularly in the sardines and small pelagic fish segment. TAFICO also collaborates and trades with artisanal fishermen to ensure sustainable fishing practices and the conservation of marine resources.
The revival of TAFICO by the Government of Tanzania aims to enhance its commercial operations and ensure financial sustainability. By engaging the private sector, particularly through Public-Private Partnership (PPP) and joint venture arrangements, TAFICO can leverage additional capital and expertise to drive the corporation's growth and success. This approach not only fosters economic development but also promotes collaboration between the public and private sectors for mutual benefit.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
i. To prepare Public Private Partnership (PPP) guidelines for the Corporate according to the PPP Act;
ii. To identify potential PPP arrangements on fishing operation and production, fish processing, in service contract and related contracts;
iii. To supervise and administer Feasibility Studies, contracts and provide link between private sector and Corporate;
iv. To monitor implementation progress of PPP funded projects within the Corporate and advise accordingly;
v. To conduct interim, mid-term and long term monitoring and evaluations of PPP contracts;
vi. To prepare plans, budgets, strategies and advise the Management on their implementation;
vii. To mobilise financial resources from internal and external sources;
viii. To collect and analyse information to provide basis for making informed decisions on the future direction;
ix. To prepare periodic performance reports on monthly, quarterly, mid-year and annually basis for Corporate; and
x. To prepare and implement Monitoring & Evaluation framework and system.
xi. To perform any other official duties as may be assigned by the immediate supervisor.
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
Holder of Master Degree in one of the following fields: Planning and Economics, Economics, Statistics, Project Planning and Management, Finance and Investment Planning.
Must have working experience of at least eight (8) years, out of which two (2) years should be in a Senior Position.
